The Chez Yarn Cafe Series started with a mushroom…

I made the first mushroom based on a podcast I was listening to. As soon as it was finished people began to ask me if I would make more and sell them. My brain cannot wrap itself around assembly line creating multiples of the same item, so I began to imagine different kinds of mushroom people. And then I started to imagine the world that they occupied. Maybe this world also held animal friends of all kinds. Maybe they all work together to build a little society. A little community.

Thus, the Chez Yarn Cafe Community, and series, was born.

I make all dolls as a one off one of a kind character. I don’t do repeats, because not only would it not bring me joy, but also because I love the idea that when I send a character off to their new home, the recipient is getting a unique hand crafted creation that was made with thought and detail.

I find inspiration in the world around me and in my own life. Thank you for allowing me to express my creativity and imagination in this way. Grab a cup of whatever your favorite is, and stay a while.
